What is Alternative Medicine?
Alternative Medicine includes modalities such as acupuncture, Chinese herbology, homeopathy, and kinesiology.
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture has evolved over the course of 5,000 years into a complete medical system that can diagnose, treat, and prevent illness. Acupuncture consists of the gentle insertion and stimulation of thin, sterile, disposable needles at specific acupuncture points near the surface of the body. This procedure stimulates the body's energy (called Qi), unblocks any obstructions of Qi, strengthens the body's immune system, helps heal acute or chronic problems, and balances both body and mind. Acupuncture can help you obtain and enjoy health and well-being.
What is Applied Kinesiology?
Applied kinesiology (AK) is a form of diagnosis that uses muscle testing as a primary feedback mechanism to examine how a person's body is functioning. With the proper use of AK, the resulting diagnosis will determine the best form of therapy for the patient. Since AK draws together the core elements of many complementary therapies, it provides an interdisciplinary approach to health care. Healthcare providers using applied kinesiology have a distinct advantage over other practitioners as they have specific diagnostic tools to determine the best therapy for the patient.
What is Homeopathy?
The primary principle underlying homeopathy is "Similia Similibus Curentur" ("Let like be cured by like"). A symptom or pattern of symptoms can be healed by a substance in nature that can cause those symptoms. In other words, by finding the substance in nature that can cause the same conditions you are experiencing, we can give a dose so dilute that it is absolutely safe but still gives your body just the formula it needs to stimulate many levels of cure. Homeopathic remedies, correctly chosen, are capable of affecting cure for acute symptoms as well as deep personal concerns.
Apart from "healing aggravations," homeopathy does not cause side effects. Since homeopathy treats the whole person and not just the apparent symptom, however, some of these healing aggravations might feel like side effects - these additional symptoms usually only last a short time.
